My Blogger

In this book Thirteen teen reasons why there was many controversial issues. The one I am going to cover is if Hannah Baker was really the tramp that every body labeled her as. Where ever we go there is always someone there to judge us. This is just a part of life but I feel that in Hannah's case this was awfully wrong because all the things that were said about her being the school whore was based off of he say she say speaking. There was never any clear evidence that any of the rumors happened so why torment this young ladies life based on word of mouth. Since her first introduction into the story she seemed everything that we as gentlemen would want to date and take home to mom but do to the inconsiderate minds of her fellow high school class mates as in Justin that good image never seemed to make it threw to peoples head. She loses a friend in Jessica not from messing around with her boyfriend Alex as rumored but instead by Jessica's own jealously which is not Hannah's doings. When it comes down to the nitty gritty the person I fully disagree with based on all this is Clay Jensen because he suspects the rumors about Hannah to be true without any hard proof evidence which makes him no different than the people around her who are assuming the wrong things.

To The Jerk

The novel I am choosing is Thirteen Reasons Why by the magnificent author Jay Asher. What I am going to be doing in this lovely blog is explaining what I would say to a chosen character from the novel if I wrote them a letter. I will be selecting Justin Foley who is Hannah Bakers first kiss and for those who don't know Ms. Baker is a highschool girl who has committed suicide based on the doings of those surrounding her. Dear Mr.foley We all know you were Hannah's first kiss and being someones first kiss means a lot in this world as common sense should tell you that which I see it hasn't. Your just another guy who's making the stereotype that "all boys are pigs" true. As we also know the first kiss is something people look back on and laugh at plus its what everybody asks about, so why bring pain to someones mind every time they sit back and reminisce about. You were truly Hannah's dream until a couple days later when she found out that you were turning out to have been a nightmare. Sure sit back with your buddies reading laughing as if you don't know what I am talking about for as I heard the tapes to and know what really happened in that park MR FOLEY. You told so many people things about a innocent little girl that were so untrue, what a perverted mind. I understand that you want to impress the fellas, but you know the truth so do impress yourself is the question buddy. (NOT) That's exactly what I was thinking but being a jerk under wraps and I am sure you didn't know that your were changing someones school life for the worst. I'm no psychic but i'm sure your over there balling your eyes out but calm down because even though the tapes say differently i'm sure she forgives you. Your not the main cause of her giving up you just could have apologized to make her life much easier.

About Paul Gibson

Discuss your ideas about the main character. Is the character worthy of praise or criticism? Why?

Title: The Number of Gay suicides Is Exaggerated
Author: Jamuna Carroll

This was an article I read that I felt was very interesting due to the fact that I didn't know there was a difference between gay and straight suicides. Ultimately I found out that I was correct and but the main character from this article I have choose felt otherwise. I felt that Mr. Paul Gibson who is a homosexual social worker should be criticised for his incorrect surveys of gay teen suicides. He didn't even take the surveys seriously because they were drawn from a group of homes and runaway shelters where the most troubled teens were located instead of drawing his surveys from a wide spectrum of communities and areas. These are human being just like us, come on they breath the same oxygen as he does so why be so uncaring and misreport his findings that were very flawed and exaggerated. To stated nationally that homosexual suicide is the leading cause of death among gay and lesbian youth is idiotic if you aren't even sure if it is true and while knowing that major spectators will be lined up to approved or object these recorded statements. But out of the one hundred percent criticism that he deserves I would take away do percent to add praise based on the fact that due to all his incorrect announcements he has created more gay counseling programs and tolerance curricula in our nation's public schools.

Precious

Recently adopted for a film, Precious Jones is an overweight uneducated teen growing up in Harlem in the late 1980's and she's pregnant with her second child (she first gave birth at age twelve) and just wants to be seen as normal. Precious is strong hearted for a young woman who puts up with a life that is so tough that most of us could never see happening to ourselves, but through one heartbreaking event after another, she still maintains hope for a better life just like people today. The mother of precious, hates her daughter in the worst way. She shows it by verbally and physically abusing her and has allowed her to be sexually abused by the one we call dad. This story to me is foul, stomach turning and hard to read but may go down as one of the most admirable books in history because it is very much worth reading. The things her mother puts her through is nothing short than torment. It's a novel that lets people know not to give up no matter what the circumstances are just like Precious. This book has taught me to love and cherish my life to the best of my abilities for I know the struggles of her. If I had a chance to ask the author anything it would be why make a book so wild. Even though the book had unbelieving text I would recommend this to everyone who is a true reader.
